« Music is life,” according to Michel Legrand, who was a gifted French musical composer, arranger, conductor, jazz pianist, and singer. This month’s Lost in Frenchlation pick is a documentary by David Hertzog Dessites about the three-time Oscar winner and musical genius who worked with such greats as Miles Davis, Jacques Demy, Charles Aznavour, Barbra Streisand and Natalie Dessay. The film was part of the official selection for the 2024 Cannes Film Festival.
